Officer Delinko had taken his usual route from his house to the department. When he passed the pancake house site, he stopped. Earlier he had noticed dogs, but now there were none. As he walked around the perimeter, he found a piece of green cloth...
Roy and Beatrice were racing to the ER on the bike Beatrice had taken from their school. They had the boy sprawled over the bike, in agony. When they reached a crossroad, Roy said that he needed a doctor. Beatrice refused to send him to a hospital. As they were arguing, a cop car came around the corner. Beatrice rode off on the bike, leaving Roy to follow shortly.
As Officer Delinko rounded the corner for the pancake house site, he noticed 3 teenagers. One was a girl, with another boy slung over her shoulder, and the other was a boy that looked like that kid Roy he met the other day. When they all ran off, he stopped at Roy's house to talk to his parents. Half-way through the talk, they got a call from a local ER, saying that a boy by the name of Roy Eberhardt was in the hospital. Officer Delinko gave Roy's parents a ride to the hospital.
